Wool Herding: Our journey begins with the finest raw sheep’s wool, acquired and prepared with care. This material is our canvas, and its quality is paramount.
Carding and Spinning: The wool is spun by hand to create yarns with the perfect twist and softness, a skill perfected by our Nepalese artisans over time. This delicate step ensures a superior quality that cannot be replicated by machines.
The Knotting: Each rug is meticulously hand-knotted on a vertical loom. The knot density of our rugs, ranging from 100 to 160 knots per square inch, ensures both resilience and longevity. This process, where the design is built knot by knot, is a true act of artistry.
Finishing: After the weaving is complete, each rug is carefully trimmed and undergoes a thorough washing process before being stretched to dry. This final stage is an act of refinement, sculpting the woven surface into a tactile piece of living art.
